UK vs US vs European bed sizes
Bed names do not travel. A “queen” or a “king” is a different size in the UK, Europe and the US, so compare centimetres.

European beds are 200 cm long, and the double and king are 5 to 10 cm wider than UK ones: EU double 140 cm against UK 135 cm, EU king 160 cm against UK 150 cm. 180 × 200 cm is the same in both and is a super king in the UK.

Translating the names
- US queen (60 × 80 in, about 152 × 203 cm) is closest to a UK king (150 × 200 cm), but 2 to 3 cm bigger each way.
- “Queen” in the UK usually means a small double, 120 × 190 cm (Which?).
- US full (54 × 75 in, about 137 × 191 cm) is close to a UK double (135 × 190 cm).
- US king (76 × 80 in, about 193 × 203 cm) is bigger than a UK super king (MattressNextDay).
- Twin (38 × 75 in, about 97 × 191 cm) is a little wider than a UK single.

What is a queen bed in the UK?
Usually a small double, 120 × 190 cm. A US queen (about 152 × 203 cm) is closer to a UK king.
Is a European king the same as a UK king?
No. An EU king is 160 × 200 cm, 10 cm wider than a UK king (150 × 200 cm).
Is a US full the same as a UK double?
Nearly: about 137 × 191 cm against 135 × 190 cm.
